The stretch films are
a plastic film that is used to secure, parcel, and save the products. The
stretch films are manufactured by using linear low-density polyethylenes. When
you are applying the films around the products it will be pulled and stretched
to obtain a tight and secured product load. It comes with a variety of widths,
thicknesses, and colors.
These stretch film
used to do exactly what the name implies, stretch. With the help of stretching
a stretch film to the maximum stretch rate, all the companies save their money
on film costs, and also they reduce their product loss. Some of the hand and
stretch film machines commonly offer a different type of stretch rates. Many
types of brands and resin formulas also offer different stretch rates. Here are
given some simple steps below, that will help the companies to find out which
amount of tightness is reached by hand or any mechanical equipment.

The NewPack packaging
experts suggest you by using a pallet of goods that is usually wrapped. Always
remember that constant pallet loads namely Moving Boxes will usually obtain a
higher stretch rate than loads with sharp edges or corners.
Calculator – To compute the simple mathematics
Marker – Specially use a permanent marker
Tape Measure – For measuring the lines
Pen and Paper – For writing the measurements
Ruler – It will help to draw a straight line
- Always bind the stretch film all the corners of the pallet & make sure all pallets will be properly wrapped around the box.
- After completing the last corner make sure is it reached completely for full rounds and loosely stretch it 5-6 ft. of the Stretch Film Roll and grip them until the Pallet Wrap.
- After that hold the slack stretch film around the boxes and properly secure 3-5 ten-inch lengths on the film. All the lines should be separated aside a few inches beyond the length of the extra film pulled out in the second step. After making a ten-inch line it helps us to calculate and complete all the responsibilities in a very easy manner. Many lines should be marked on the film to get an average rate when one round of pallet wrapping.
- Always wrap the pallet normally after completing 3-5 ten inch lines are properly marked on it. You can complete it with the help of your hand otherwise you can use any machine to do this task. And after it properly wrap it approximate 10 inches to the pallet.
- Always use a tape measure which will help you to calculate the stretched lines and always write each line distance in a paper.
- And the last step is that when all of the stretched lines are properly measured and written into a paper, calculate the average length of these lines by combining all lengths side by side and dividing by the total number of lines. When the average of all these lines comes 20, it means a 100% stretch rate is being reached. When the average of the lines is 30 inches, a 200% stretch rate is being reached.
Stretch wrap is one of the most important packaging materials
